I'm looking for seriously gothic scrapping supplies... I've noticed for a while now that most of the stuff I find is either in pastels or brights, both of which are lovely, but neither of which are suitable for my somewhat Gothic daughter.

Does anyone know where I can find the sort of stuff I can use for my decidedly not-pastel-or-bright daughter?

Any ideas gratefully appreciated :

I would start with Hollie's http://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/product.php?productid=17679&cat=0&page=1Void and http://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/product.php?productid=17563&cat=0&page=2All Hallows Eve.

They definitely make my Inner Goth smile and she doesn't do that very often.

Hi there!!! You also might want to look at http://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/search.php?mode=search&page=1Old School and the add on freebie in DS shop...its more of a rock and roll party kit, but theres a ton of decidedly grungy studs and metal and stuff. If you like illustrations, there's a gorgeous gothic kit by Rebecca McMeen in Studio Tangie at Scrapbookgraphics....CANT think of what its called, but let me see if i can find it...

Here ya go..on this page is Esperia as well as one of the Art Journal Caravan provisions that is decidedly goth.

And also, there's a 'Gothic blog train' that comes around once in a while...i'd do a google search for 'scrap, gothic blog train'...and they're free which is always good. Some of the designers that contribute are fantastically talented, some...not really my cup of tea..but you only download and leave love for what you like, and there's a TON to choose from...it might even be a monthly thing.

Also, I strongly suggest the brushes of Annika Von Holdt...they're not only gothic, they're so lovely they'll make you cry..and trust me..you can use them to turn any kit into a marvel of gorgeous goth...

Each of those lil pictures is a brush set, just fyi...

and i know they say for PS 6 and 7..but to my knowledge they work in all photoshop/elements/gimp type programs..they're abr files.

I've got a million more...if you get bored with these come grab me and i'll give ya some more ideas.

Oh..another thing..I'm assuming you're in some sort of a photoshop or elements program...if not, i don't know how to do this..but have you played around with blend modes? I'll explain how in case we have anybody trot in here who doesn't know...

Take a paper, in layers palette duplicate it a few times, so you have a few layers of the same paper... mess with the blend modes and opacities...when I really want to grunge something up, i usually go with a few layers of combinations of multiply, color and linear burn, difference, hard light and soft light...then play with the order of the papers/opacities and you can click the little eyeball next to the layer to try turning some layers on and off. You'll get some really cool effects. Plus you can do a TON with one really good set of hi res grunge textures...ummm...where was that...Lost and taken dot com has some of those, i think...i just saw them, and they're quite huge so you can really make a million different looks. Good luck!

Anika's brushes are gorgeous but they are tiny, so beware.  They look good on an ATC but anything bigger and you are going to have enlarge the brush, then blend to avoid it looking distorted.

There are quite a few "Twilight" inspired kits around the moment.  While I'm not into it at all, I do like some of the kits.

This http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/search.php?mode=search&page=1http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/search.php?mode=search&page=1Love Bites kit might suit you (I like it and it's not too obviously Twilight).

A couple by Flergs, at SBG - http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/search.php?mode=search&page=1http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/search.php?mode=search&page=1Volterra and http://shop.scrapbookgraphics.com/Helter-Skelter-FULL-KIT.htmlHelter Skelter

This one by MGL at SBG might also work - http://shop.scrapbookgraphics.com/Indomitable.htmlIndomitable

OOoh...that reminds me...Miss Honey has a new one...Vampire Diaries...goes awesome with Hollie's Void and All Hallows Eve. Its more 'reminiscent' of vampires..just basically victorian goth...really lovely. I'll have to go peek at helter skelter..not seen that one.

I forgot to say before, a couple weeks ago, we had to get some long sleeved t-shirts for Miss Moo (my 9.5 year old daughter).  She doesn't like shopping that much but we did find two t-shirts with the following slogans that she really liked

Every girl needs a werewolf (in red and black with glitter)
Forget princesses, I wanna be a vampire (in charcoal and black with glitter

AHA! Went to grab a cool freebie and loooky what i found! there's a cool freebie in here, too...but as gothic and teenagery as it gets.

http://www.aussiescrapdesigns.com/ # Awww..dadnabit..might not take you to the designers area...she's called 'Gothic Witch Creations' and you can select from the designers. They're tagger sized, though so you might wanna grab the freebie and see how large they'll go without distortion. Good luck!
