La Vie Boheme Paper Gypsy Caravan

I was so excited to make something hands on with images from our latest CYOC, La Vie Boheme!  And I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to make...a gypsy caravan wagon!  I searched and searched the net for any kind of pattern but couldn't find anything I liked or any that was cheap enough (I hate paying for something that I know I can make myself, lol).  It took a few tries to get the dimensions right, not too big- not too little.  But I finally made a template that worked for me.  It is 4 inches wide, 7 inches long and about 5 1/2 inches at the tallest point.

The paper for the main body is left over from my scrapbooking days.  The side windows are from Holliewood Studios as well as the red curtain, yellow curtain, lantern, rug, butterflies and pillows.  The guitar and suitcase are from Marta Van Eck.

I decided that my wagon needed a gypsy so I made one from http://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/product.php?productid=21010&cat=&page=http://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/product.php?productid=21010&cat=&page=my kit and added wings and the turban from Holliewood Studios' kit.  I named her Madame Celastrina (a latin butterfly name I found) and made her a sign advertising "Wing Readings" instead of the traditional "palm" readings!  The frame is from Marta Van Eck's kit.

I finished by gluing a few feathers and some gold tinsel trim around my edges.  I wasn't sure how to display it until I found a silver tray in my studio.  I covered it with moss and other stuff from nature like pinecones and tree bark.  I also made the steps out of tree bark and moss.  I traced the template to maybe use again so if anyone is interested, I can post it.  I wanted to take pics as I was making it but my camera is broken and I had to use my DD's for the after shots (not a great camera).  I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did making it and check out this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuky0uwduZslink to see a short video explaining it further.  Cheers!  Tracey
