pre-k art

OK, I would love some inspiration and new ideas for pre-k art projects. I have tried to stay away from the traditional macaroni necklace lol. Its a huge bonus when I can teach them something and then we can create based on that such as making a mask during Mardis Gras. If any of you wonderfully gifted peoples have ideas or know of resources to help me expand on our daily grind!

Thanks in advance

Have you checked out the Crayola website?  It's free to register and well worth the time.  They have a ton of ideas.

However, collage is always good.  Cut out (if they are allowed to use scissors that is) bits and pieces from the junk mail catalogs and glue them down.   Or use tin foil, cotton balls, sponges, etc.

Paint with different materials, like a cotton ball, a sponge, mesh, etc.

Make a nature journal, which should be great for you this time of year, being autumn and all (also great for collage, hee hee)

Some sites I surfed and found:

http://www.preschoolexpress.com/art_station.shtml
http://www.amazingmoms.com/htm/kidsart.htm

I hope they help.
